All About Jason
Service rank and title:

-United States Navy, Machinist Mate Chief Class- Surface Warfare

What strengths do you bring to the team?

-I am a veteran that dreaded filing my initial claims, I wait nearly 8 years, because I thought the process was “too hard” and “not worth my time”.  I feel there are a lot of veterans that feel the same way right now.  I can help put the veteran at easy with the process based on my own experiences.  I truly enjoy helping others and I am passionate that veterans should claim and receive the benefits they deserve

What do you love about working with Atlas Benefit Consulting?

-It’s a company created by a veteran and a veteran’s spouse to help other veterans.  Being in the military is difficult for the service member and their family.  It’s hard for people that haven’t experienced it to understand the struggles.  I love that this company, not only has the expertise of the VA claim process, but they have also been in the shoes of the veteran.

Which blog posts do you recommend most for veterans as a useful resource?
  1. You Need a Buddy
  2. Common Reasons the VA Denies Claims
  3. Mental Health blog posts:
What are your hobbies or interests?

-Since being out of Navy I have taken up woodworking.  I really enjoy spending my evenings in the garage working on projects. My biggest project is building a boat.  I have been working on building a 14 ft runabout for the past 6 years.

What is one of your favorite songs?

“You’ve Got a Friend in Me”- Randy Newman

What is something you wish everyone knew about you?
-This is a tough question.  I don’t think there is anything I want other people to know that they don’t already know about me.  I am pretty reserved, I enjoy spending time with my family and close friends, being outdoors as much as possible.
Can you share some of your other favorite resources or news releases for veterans?
  1. Google – I use it many times everyday to find symptoms, understand diagnosis, quickly find references, etc.
  2. https://www.knowva.ebenefits.va.gov/ – I like to refer to the references themselves, so this is good place to find all the references in one place.
